Anthony Mackie has addressed a recent set photo between him and Harrison Ford from the film Captain America: Brave New World about some Red Hulk rumors.

With Captain America: Brave New World having wrapped principal photography, eyes are currently now set on the recent images on set of Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson who took on the mantle of the star-spangled Sentinel of Liberty, Captain America, and Harrison Ford, who has been cast as Secretary-turned-President Thaddeus Ross.

Although, Ford as Ross, has been looking a bit scruffy (and somewhat) tattered of late compared to earlier set photos. While fans of the MCU seem this may point to Ford being Red Hulk, Mackie has some other explanation as per an interview with Comicbook.com (H/T: Movieweb) in the cards in response.

How did Anthony Mackie respond to Red Hulk rumors?

While Ford was playing things matter coy regarding the possible transformation of Ross into Red Hulk, Mackie gave a rather comical response in terms of the state of Ford’s shredded pants. The Hurt Locker star went on to say:

"“See Harrison [Ford] and I go way back. A lot of people don’t know this… This is our second time working together. He came down to Atlanta, they lost his luggage, so I gave him a pair of pants, but those are my work pants from working in the yard. Harrison, he’s a curmudgeon, so he goes ‘Anthony, just give me the damned pants.’ And I was like, ‘Alright.’ So that’s all that was. He just needed some pants.”"

So according to Mackie, the reason for Ford’s malfunctioned wardrobe is due to misplaced luggage. This writer does not buy it, though, and has reason to believe this may just be a spin to get ahead of the trades.

Of late, Captain America 4 seems more akin to The Incredible Hulk 2 (The Lost Sequel) might with the return of Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns better known in the comics as The Leader, and Liv Tyler as Betty Ross. While it is too early to say if Red Hulk will make an appearance but let’s just say the stage is set.
