All 7 Mission: Impossible movies ranked from worst to best

6. Mission: Impossible 3
Mission: Impossible 3 premiered in theaters in 2006. Directed by J.J. Abrams, Mission: Impossible 3 continues Ethan Hunt’s story and wraps up the original Mission: Impossible trilogy.
In the third movie, Ethan Hunt has hung up the spy gear. He’s going to be married soon and out of the industry… or so he thinks. After Ethan’s colleague, Lindsey Farris (Keri Russell), is kidnapped, Ethan is forced back into the game to save Lindsey, but is everything as it seems? You’ll have to watch to find out!
Overall, Mission: Impossible 3 is a good movie. There’s no doubt about that. It’s a step up from Mission: Impossible 2. The cast is better, and the story and direction are good. With that said, it just doesn’t have the same iconic moments that the first movie did, which is next up on the list.
And, the original trilogy just doesn’t hold up that well when compared to the new movies of the franchise. I hate to say that, but it’s true.
