Best Supergirl episodes ranked

Who remembers when Supergirl aired on CBS for its first season? After season one it seemed like the Supergirl was done, but the CW came to the rescue. We’re glad they did. Melissa Benoist’s portrayal of Kara Zor-El was nothing short of brilliant, instantly making her an icon and a symbol of empowerment.

One of Supergirl’s greatest strengths was its ability to dive deep into Kara’s emotions and struggles. We got to see Kara grow as she balanced two identities. Supergirl did something no other Superman-based show (outside of Krypton) could do. It gave fans a deeper look into the mythology and history of Krypton — in its own way.

The show’s ensemble cast was another reason fans fell in love. Kara’s adoptive sister Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh), the witty tech genius Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan), and the enigmatic Martian J’onn J’onzz (David Harewood) all brought their own unique dynamics to the team, making it strong and lovable. Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath), the billionaire sister with a family history painted in blood brought a unique dynamic. The additions of Nia Nal (Nicole Maines) and Brainy (Jesse Rathadded) more comedy from two young heroes.

Supergirl fearlessly tackled important social and political issues. The show addressed topics like discrimination, immigration, and LGBTQ+ rights, using its superhero narrative to shed light on real-world struggles.

Supergirl will forever be remembered as a groundbreaking show that gave us an inspiring story of the last daughter of Krypton, touching audiences with its powerful themes, relatable characters, and captivating narrative. It ended on a high note, but there are 13 episodes that stood above the rest. Don’t expect to see the pilot or series finale on this list, they are already immortalized.
