5. Supergirl Season 6 Episode 8:  Welcome Back, Kara!

The Girl of Steel’s homecoming to National City was the beginning of the show’s end, focusing on the aftermath of the Phantom Zone. The episode gave us the heartwarming reunions we’d all wanted. One of the better moments saw Kara acknowledges Lena’s importance, affirming her as a valuable member of the Super Friends and solidifying their life-saving friendship. Lena’s acceptance within the group has become vital to both Kara and the fabric of Supergirl.

One odd aspect was the introduction of environmental issues, the pollution storyline serves as a catalyst for emotional resolution rather than a focal point. Still, we had so many good things. Like Nia and Lena growing closer through a shared tragedy was a testament to the amazing job Supergirl does with relationships.

Of course, Supergirl was built on the relationship between Alex and Kara. Inspired by an article written by Iris West-Allen about unity, Kara realized the value of personal well-being alongside her commitment to truth and justice.

With Nia and Lena’s relationship flourishing, Kara finding solace in her shared experiences with Iris, and the return to themes of hope, love, and family, this episode was the beginning of the end fans could hope for.
