3. Supergirl Season 3, Episode 9: Reign

Season three was easily one of the best seasons of Supergirl and it was because of the arc that included Reign. So yes, we need to start with the amazing underrated greatness that is Odette Annable. Not enough people know how good Annable is. And her performance elevated the episode to new heights, stealing every scene she was in. The underrated Annable showcased her range once again, transitioning between moments of vulnerability and ruthless power.

What make Reign special was its ability to blend elements of sadness, intrigue, and optimism, a powerful narrative that had us hooked. That is very true when Reign and Supergirl come face to face.

Supergirl pleaded with Reign to see the good within her, to remember the person she once was. And then there was Reign, who was driven by a sense of duty to fulfill her destiny, remained steadfast in her commitment to darkness. Who can I forget the raw emotion displayed by both actresses?

Melissa Benoist conveyed Supergirl’s desperation, her voice trembling with a mix of sadness and determination. Odette Annable, on the other hand, portrayed Reign’s internal struggle with a haunting intensity, capturing the inner struggle of a character torn between her past and her present identity.
