13. Supergirl Season 3, Episode 6: Midvale
Midvale 100% reminded fans of another CW hit series, Riverdale. A dead body, a teacher-student relationship, and hidden secrets drive the plot. Kara and Alex uncover incriminating photos taken by their late friend Kenny, exposing a compromising relationship between a teacher and student… Wait there’s more…
Determined to seek justice, they share the evidence with the authorities, but danger arises when they become targets themselves and suspect the teacher as the culprit. Kara’s use of her powers to protect herself and Alex showcases her superhero capabilities.
Young actresses Izabela Vidovic and Olivia Nikkanen deliver commendable performances as younger Kara and Alex, capturing the essence of their characters during their earlier relationship. The episode establishes a stronger bond between the sisters, leaving a lasting impression of their enduring sisterhood.
Nods to iconic characters and shows within the superhero genre add a nostalgic touch. The reference to Lois Lane through Agent Noel Neill, played by Erica Durance, pays homage to the original portrayal of the beloved character. Including a Chloe reference from Smallville had fans geeking out.
While some lingering mysteries remain, such as the significance of the “LOST176” license plate, the episode maintains anticipation for future developments. The preview for the next episode hints at the potential return of Mon-El and intriguing connections to the Legion of Super-Heroes, promising exciting possibilities for future storylines.
Supergirl Season 3, Episode 6 is one of the better episodes from a great series but it’s not Top 10 worthy.
