8. Supergirl Season 4: Episode 9: Elseworlds Part 3

Fans were taken into a dystopian version of Earth, where familiar characters had drastically different, specifically Green Arrow and Supergirl. They encountered their sinister counterparts from Earth-X. named Overgirl and Dark Arrow. Overgirl represented the evil version of Supergirl, while Dark Arrow portrayed the twisted counterpart of Green Arrow. Oh, and they were married, awkward. In some ways, it was reminiscent of the Crime Syndicate from DC Comics where there were doppelganger villains of the Justice League.

One of the most impactful emotional scenes happened when Kara Danvers confronted her Overgirl coming face to face with the tragic corruption that could have happened to her if things were different.

In this episode, we saw Oliver face his inner demons. In a heartfelt conversation with Barry Allen, aka The Flash, Oliver bared his soul, expressing his feelings of inadequacy and guilt. Arrow fans knew what Stephen Amell was capable of and he did not disappoint here he stripped away his tough exterior to reveal the depths of his emotional turmoil. This raw and honest scene showcased the power of character-driven storytelling, allowing viewers to connect with Oliver on a deeper level and empathize with his internal struggles.

As the heroes uncovered the truth behind the altered reality, they were confronted with the realization that the Monitor, an enigmatic cosmic being, was testing their strength and resolve. This revelation also told us that the man who grandfathered the universe had a far greater purpose — we were not ready.
