7. Supergirl Season 1, Episode 13:  For the Girl Who Had Everything

What was cool about this episode is the shared commonality it was with Superman: For the Man Who Has Everything. In both stories, the hero is trapped in an illusion created by the villain, experiencing a perfect life. With the help of their friends, the hero breaks free from the illusion, emphasizing the power of love and personal connections. Although the TV episode has its own twists, both narratives explore the hero’s struggle with their desires and the importance of human connections.

Kara’s friends became worried when she didn’t show up for work, and they found her unconscious with the alien attached to her. They took her to the DEO but realized forcibly removing the alien would kill her. Meanwhile, it was revealed that Non orchestrated the alien attack as part of his plan called Myriad for world domination. Astra, Kara’s aunt, helped Alex save Kara, showing a change of heart. Alex entered Kara’s mind and convinced her to reject the false reality projected by the alien.

Kara woke up but was devastated by the loss of her family and home once again. Determined to stop Non, she confronted him, but he escaped. Meanwhile, Alex encountered Astra, who seemed conflicted about their plans. Astra was killed during a fight, and Henshaw took the blame to protect Alex’s hero status.

Oh, man and Melissa Benoist and Chyler Leigh were money with their performances. And the comedic relief by Henshaw pretending to be Kara was funny.
