5 The Walking Dead characters who definitely won’t be back in 2023

Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira were set to lead one of this year’s four TWD Universe shows, but the long-awaited Rick and Michonne offshoot won’t be coming to screens this year after all. But fear not, friends, as the pair’s story will continue next year instead. Yes, it has simply been delayed and will premiere in early 2024.
The announcement came in the midst of an AMC TWD Universe press release that revealed that some of the initially planned release windows for the spinoffs had been shifted, but it reiterated that this exciting new chapter for the stars of The Walking Dead will continue… fans will just have to wait a little bit longer than they initially thought.
The six-part series will pick up where TWD left off, allowing us to see what Rick Grimes has been up to since he was taken by the Civic Republic Military in season 9 and how Michonne is still attempting to find him since her departure in season 10. Its purpose is to continue the pair’s love story as they desperately try to find their way back to each other.
The story was initially set to be told in a movie trilogy before Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira announced the series at San Diego Comic-Con last year. And after years of waiting to see Rick and Michonne reunite on our screens, we can wait a little longer until 2024!
