Ms. Marvel’s exciting leap from Disney+ to ABC as Kamala Khan flies onto Primetime TV.

The first word you think of when you hear “superhero” might be Batman, Superman, or Iron Man. But this August, ABC is throwing its cape into the superhero TV ring with a dynamic new protagonist who is set to steal the spotlight.

In a bold programming move, ABC has announced that it will air the entire first season of the critically acclaimed Disney Plus original series Ms. Marvel across two special Saturdays in August.

Ms. Marvel will makes it TV debut on ABC

The heroine Ms. Marvel will kick off her television journey on Saturday, Aug. 5, with the first three episodes of the series. Fans will then have to hold their collective breaths for one week until the final three thrilling episodes make their grand entrance on Saturday, Aug. 12, from 8:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT.

For those not familiar with the Ms. Marvel series, in the epicenter of this riveting saga is Kamala Khan (brilliantly portrayed by the talented newcomer Iman Vellani), a Muslim American teenager carving out her place in Jersey City.

Kamala isn’t your typical teenage girl – her interests span from battling orcs in her favorite video games to whipping up intricate fan-fiction inspired by her beloved superheroes. She’s a girl with a vivid imagination that knows no bounds, especially when it comes to her idol, Captain Marvel.

As the thrilling adventures of Kamala Khan, or Ms. Marvel, come to life on ABC this August, a larger narrative will unfold on the silver screen with The Marvels, which is scheduled for release on November 10. We will see Carol Danvers, the badass Captain Marvel, rising from the ashes of a power struggle with the Kree and their Supreme Intelligence, and stepping into her identity with fierce determination. But her victory will come with a price, destabilizing the universe and placing a cosmic responsibility on her shoulders. Fate will then steer the three Marvels together (Danvers, Khan and WandaVision‘s Monica Rambeau), with the trio forming the nucleus of the Marvels, showcasing an exhilarating blend of power and resilience.

The Marvels will feed off the energy of the Ms. Marvel series, as the woman Kamala idolizes ascends to new heights. The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to build intricate webs of interconnected stories, promising a heroic feast for audiences.

ABC is no stranger to airing Marvel programming, as Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD ran for seven seasons between 2013 and 2020, while Agent Carter (starring Captain America: The First Avenger‘s Hayley Atwell) ran for two seasons between 2014 and 2016. Ms. Marvel‘s TV debut, however, will mark the first time that one of Marvel Studios’ Disney plus streaming shows have aired on network television.
