5. Sadie Sink

X-Men fans know all too well that Jean goes through some stuff. Comic book readers journeyed as Jean suffered through traumatic experiences, witnessing her friend’s death and slipping into a catatonic state. Knowing Jean’s depth gives the MCU an opportunity for deep character exploration. One way an anthology series could delve into the psychological impact of Jean’s journey is by focusing on highlighting her resilience, growth, and the process of overcoming trauma. This brings us to Sadie Sink, the star of Stranger Things.

Sink, 21, is a rising star who already possesses leading lady qualities. Some may want to see her as Rogue in the MCU (she’s a popular choice among fans), but she’d be fantastic as Jean Grey. The young actress has consistently portrayed characters with genuine emotional depth. We have witnessed her growth in the role of the emotionally damaged tomboyish Max in Stranger Things. She has also taken on multiple characters in Netflix’s anthology horror series, Fear Street.  Oh, and who can forget Sink’s heart-wrenching performance as Tess in the coming-of-age tearjerker Dear Zoe. Just imagine what she could bring to the role of Jean.

Looking ahead, the X-Men likely wouldn’t be introduced into the MCU until after Deadpool 3, possibly not until 2025. By then, Sink would be around 24 years old, the perfect age to introduce Rogue as and for her to evolve alongside the role. Furthermore, she would have gained more recognition, adding star power to the portrayal of this iconic character.
