1. Katherine Langford

Yes, I know she was technically Morgan in the MCU, but we never saw that on the big screen (as the character appeared in a deleted Avengers: Endgame scene), so it doesn’t matter. Maybe it was cut to make room for her to play Jean? Okay, probably not. Still, Katherine Langford has proven her ability to tackle complex roles with remarkable grace and authenticity. As Hannah Baker in Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why, fans got their first glimpse at Langford, who demonstrated her skills to tackle intricate, deep, emotionally charged roles.

However, Langford’s portrayal of Nimue in the fantasy series Cursed showcased her ability to embody a strong, determined, and empowering character. In some ways, Nimue’s internal strength and vulnerability mirrors qualities ideally similar to Jean’s character. No one can deny Langford’s magnetic presence on screen, which would undoubtedly capture Jean’s leadership qualities and showcase her evolution into a formidable force for good.

As the MCU often focuses on characters in their formative years, introducing a youthful Jean Grey opens the door for engaging storytelling possibilities. Katherine Langford, at the age of 27, brings the perfect blend of youthful energy and mature talent. Her ability to connect with younger audiences was evident in her role as Leah Burke in Love, Simon. Lately, she took on an entirely different role as an ex-con who moves back to her small town where things take a turn for the worse in the Australian TV series Savage River. Simply put, Langford has the natural charisma and ability to convey emotional authenticity and that makes her perfect for Jean Grey.
