The best episode of Secret Invasion came right on time. The show is just past the halfway mark and needed something major to happen leading into the final two episodes. Thankfully, the creative team delivered. Episode 4 didn’t just give viewers shocking moments, it also produced great TV.

First, Nick Fury’s wife Priscilla (her Skrull name is Varra) was ordered to kill Fury by James Rhodes (who’s a Skrull working for Gravik). Of course, Fury knew what was going on and confronted Varra. When it came time for them to kill each other, they both intentionally missed. Fury’s response was perfect. He said he didn’t know if it was time for a divorce or for them to renew their vows. Unfortunately, the betrayal was too much for Fury to get passed. He left Varra in their home. What’s next for them is a mystery.

The final moments of this episode were intense. Gravik and his terrorist insurgency attempted to kill the President of the United States under the cloak of being Russian. Nick Fury and Talos stopped the assassination, but could avoid a tragedy. In the process, Gravik killed Talos in front of Fury. Fury shoots Gravik in the face and finds something disturbing. Gravik can survive a gunshot to the face.

Episode 5 will lead into the finale perfectly. Expect episode 5 of Secret Invasion to show Nick Fury put in an impossible situation or for him to get captured. Maybe both. The latter is most likely. However, whatever happens, it will all be part of Nick Fury’s plan.
