7. Stanley Tucci

We got a glimpse at Professor X recruiting the X-Men in X-Men: First Class. An excellent, but it wasn’t the team fans knew from the comics — Fox messed up. Maybe, just maybe, the MCU could opt to take things back to where we get Professor X, the recruit. Maybe we get that guy on a Disney Plus series, which means they can use a seasoned, versatile actor who can be an older version on the show and even older once the movie comes out. Stanley Tucci can be that guy.

Tucci is a versatile actor who could play everything from a sick kidnapper to a smooth leader of a secret spy organization, to Clive Davis. Tucci is a fantastic, rangy actor who gives any film a boost. He might not have led as many projects as he has been in supporting roles, but that’s a good thing. He knows how to be the foundation of a project.

Hear me out, Stanley Tucci has the screen presence of a wildly vet who doesn’t need to be the star of the film. His version of Professor X would be a fantastic foil character to what Cyclops fans hope the MCU would do with true face of the X-Men team. Should the MCU want to shift the focus of the X-Men to Cyclops as the combative, yet loyal leader of the group, a guy like Tucci could work really well.

Yes. Tucci has already appeared in the MCU as Abraham Erskine in Captain America: The First Avenger, but that shouldn’t rule him out from another role. After all, Eternals‘ Gemma Chan returned after playing a completely different role in Captain Marvel just two years earlier.
