There are plenty of new and returning comic book TV shows to look forward to but not all of them are coming back this year.
The television landscape is constantly changing, but it’s never experienced quite as much change in such a short amount of time as it has over the past few years. From the production shutdown during the pandemic prematurely ending almost all TV shows’ seasons (and prematurely ending some TV shows), to new owners of old studios and networks cancelling many beloved comic book TV shows so that they could start over, change just kept coming over the past few years.
Nevertheless, the content kept coming too, with plenty of exciting and beloved TV shows entertaining viewers through all of that change, reminding us all how much the medium is appreciated. And fans know exactly how much the creators behind the medium deserve to be appreciated, with many of them voicing their support for the writers and actors during both the WGA and SAG strikes that are currently ongoing in Hollywood.
The strikes have understandably led to the delay of many more TV shows, with the current fall TV season relying heavily on unscripted TV shows and acquisitions. But the strike won’t be the only reason that some of these beloved TV shows aren’t airing this year.
If you’re a comic book fan eager to escape into some of your favorite upcoming TV shows, here are which ones you can expect this year (and which ones won’t be back for now).
Let’s start with the TV shows that are still coming in 2023.
