7 TV shows still coming in 2023 (and 3 that aren’t)

Stranger Things season 5

Stranger Things is one of the biggest TV shows of all time. It may just be the biggest TV show of the whole streaming era. That’s how popular it is. So you can imagine that fans are ready to consume its fifth and final season. Unfortunately, it won’t be coming out in 2023.

Filming was expected to commence in June this year. That alone made it clear that we wouldn’t be getting the final season in 2023 but due to the WGA strike, production did not begin. As a result of that, and the SAG strike as well, filming won’t be taking place in the immediate future. With that in mind, we’re likely looking at a late 2024 or early 2025 release window for Stranger Things season 5.

This isn’t the first time the show has experienced a lengthy delay between seasons. The fourth season was released three years after season 3 due to the production shutdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. While The Duffer Brothers did confirm there would be a wait for season 5, they did assure fans it shouldn’t be as long a wait as they had for season 4. But that was long before the strikes.
