Marvel: 9 best Secret Invasion stories to read after the MCU show

For the first time in a while, Earth was in trouble. The Skrulls sent the Avengers to the Savage Land hoping they’d kill each other or at the very least distract them while they took over the world. They also gave Tony Stark a virus that was killing him. On top of that, StarkTech was compromised, leaving S.H.I.E.L.D. vulnerable. As bad as things looked, the Skrulls made one mistake. They didn’t crush Earth’s spirit.
As good as the story was, the final fight was the best part. It was the Super Skrulls versus the heroes and villains of Earth. Sometimes these big fights can seem jumbled and confusing. Artist Leinil Francis Yu and colorist Laura Martin made sure that didn’t happen. They had a difficult job of drawing dozens of characters on multiple pages and did a flawless job. No matter how many characters were on a page, each of them was easily distinguishable. And not just the heroes, but their powers as well.
In the end, the Skrulls were defeated. While it was a team effort, only one person was given credit. The world saw Thunderbolts leader Norman Osborn take out Veranke and that’s all the public cared about. Now, the evil Norman Osborn (and former killer Green Goblin) was put in charge.
