Mortal Kombat: 14 characters we want in a future DLC
By Mark Lynch
2. Constantine
"“I’m a nasty piece of work chief. Ask anybody.” – John Constantine"
This writer knows that he said popular DC Comics characters wouldn’t be on this list, but John Constantine toes that line. He’s not an A-list Justice League member, but people love him anyway. He’s incredibly charismatic, fights dirty, talks trash, and has the capability to be the most used character in Mortal Kombat.
Constantine’s attacks would add a variety that no one else has ever had. He can go from using regular punches and kicks to adding magic to them. Then he’ll throw a demon or spray Hellfire from his hands. And just when you think that’s it, he’ll switch it up and hit you in the… nether realms. There could also be spells where he’d force your entire controls to go wrong. Has this been done before? Yes, but the classics never get old.
This would also be a good test to see how fans respond to seeing a hero get viciously killed in Mortal Kombat. If it goes well, maybe a future Injustice game could have fatalities.
1. Dracula/Vlad the Impaler
"“Listen to them, the children of the night. What music they make!” – Bram Stoker’s Dracula"
Whether you call him Count Dracula or Vlad the Impaler, he should be in Mortal Kombat. There aren’t many 1-on-1 fighting games where Dracula or Vlad can cut loose. This is the platform that can make that happen.
In Mortal Kombat, he wouldn’t just be bloody or bleed, he could revel in it. Imagine a move where every hit gives him health whenever you bleed. Or what if it puts him in a rage due to bloodlust? He could become more powerful than before. How do you compete with that?
As Dracula, he’d be one of the strongest, fastest, and most dominant fighting characters of all time. There’s also the possibility of turning into mist, bats, and more. As Vlad the Impaler (human), he could be a ruthless and vicious killing machine. Regardless, this is another opportunity for NetherRealm Studios to do something no one else has.
