Liam Hemsworth is set to replace Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher season 4 and this awesome video gives fans a glimpse of what he’ll look like in the role when he debuts.

Henry Cavill’s short-lived return to the role of Superman in the DC Extended Universe last year was a tale of many layers. Around the time that the actor revealed that he would return as the Man of Steel, he also confirmed that he would be exiting Netflix series The Witcher as Geralt of Rivia after its third season. It was also revealed that Liam Hemsworth would replace him in the role.

Cavill may not have Superman anymore either, but he still landed on his feet as he now turns his attention to a Warhammer 4K series. The Witcher fans, however, have already begun to imagine what the show would look like without him, and there is plenty of intrigue as to how Liam Hemsworth will fare in the role of Geralt. The third season saw him bow out of the role, setting the stage for Hemsworth’s arrival in season 4.

One fan has already taken to YouTube to show us all what Hemsworth could look like as The Witcher‘s hero, and the result is really quite stunning.

What Liam Hemsworth could look like as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher season 4

YouTube user Stryder HD recently posted a concept trailer on their channel, exploring what Liam Hemsworth will look like in the role of Geralt of Rivia when he replaces Henry Cavill in The Witcher season 4.

Titled a “Season 4 First Look” concept trailer, the teaser employs DeepFake technology to place Hemsworth’s likeness over footage of Cavill from the season 3 finale (Cavill’s last episode). The result is really impressive, and it highlights how awesome the Australian actor will look in the character’s signature armor when he plays the role in the near-future.

This is the second of these concept trailer videos that Stryder HD has made, as he previously stunned audiences with one that used footage from the first two seasons shortly after the announcement was made that Hemsworth would be stepping into the role.

When will Liam Hemsworth debut on The Witcher?

Liam Hemsworth will make his official debut as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher season 4. That means that the next time we see new episodes of the show, he will be the one in the iconic silver wig.

The silver lining for fans of Henry Cavill’s portrayal of the character was that Hemsworth’s season 4 arrival meant they still got to have one more season of Cavil in the role before they had to say goodbye to him (as season 3 was filmed prior to Cavill’s departure from the Netflix show).

That final chapter commenced in June when season 3’s first volume was released. Netflix then unveiled the second part of the season on July 27, allowing fans to see Henry Cavill’s final scenes as Geralt.

It will be a change, for sure, when a new Geralt makes his way onto the show. Recasts are always a bittersweet moment because as exciting as it will be to see a new actor take on the beloved role, it will be sad to bid Cavill’s iteration of Geralt adieu.

As for when exactly the next season could come out, it’s best to expect a wait. With both the WGA and SAG strikes ongoing, it will understandably be some time before filming even commences. With that in mind, there could be an outside chance that we see new episodes premiere in fall 2024 at the very earliest, but we’re more likely looking at a mid 2025 release. Of course that’s just a prediction!

One thing’s for sure, though, and that is something this fan trailer highlights: Liam Hemsworth is going to look fantastic in the show, and we can’t wait to see his performance!
