Orchis may have tricked (SPOILER) into killing thousands of mutants, but there are still X-men alive and willing to fight.

The mutants of Krakoa were taken out by Orchis during the 2023 Hellfire Gala. Years of planning resulted in them taking away their ability to teleport to safety and giving Orchis access to the Krakoan gates while taking away the mutant’s ability to walk through them. That wasn’t the worst of it. They tricked Xavier into walking most of Earth’s mutants to their deaths.

The X-Men and mutants have had a lot of dark days, but Orchis made a huge mistake. They didn’t finish the job. The Marvel universe is full of supervillains, zealots, and hate-mongers that tried to exterminate mutants. As you can see, they’re still here. Not even eliminating the X-Gene could stop them (read House of M for that story).

Despite being sent to their deaths and scattered all over the world, you can never count the mutants out. There are still X-Men left in the world. Some of them aren’t mutants. Wilson Fisk, Captain America (Steve Rogers), and Tony Stark all seem to be willing to help. While their numbers may be small, they’re going to fight back.
