Yes, Superman can exist in Robert Pattinson’s Batman universe. Peter Safran and James Gunn can make it happen seamlessly.

Connected universes are a gift and a curse. Warner Bros hasn’t quite figured out how to make it happen with live-action DC Comics.

For over a decade, fans saw DC movies take one step forward and two steps back. Given the polarizing universe that was the DCEU, fans are divided when it comes to deciding if a connected universe will work. Simply put, it can. We’ve seen it happen with Star Wars and Star Trek, but in the realm of comic book movies, fans have known Marvel’s Cinematic Universe as the standard.

For better or worse, when it comes to bringing our favorite heroes together, the MCU has found a way to do it successfully. Peter Safran and James Gunn have made it clear that they want their universe to connect. They want something cohesive and something fans can get behind. One way they can keep some cohesiveness and familiarity is by merging Matt Reeves’ Batman into their DCU.

Naturally, there are some fans who will agree with the notion that Superman cannot exist in Reeves’ universe. The argument that fantastical elements can’t exist outside of Gotham is a bit shortsighted.
