Mutants all over the world have separated, and the world hates the X-Men, but some Marvel Comics’ mutants are fighting back.

Orchis has hit mutants worse than anyone has in Marvel Comics. They’ve heightened mutant hatred to an all-time high. People all over the world believe that mutants killed diplomats and that Orchis tried to stop them. Cyclops was crippled and held prisoner until he announced that mutants caused the death of humans at the Hellfire Gala. Of course, Cyclops refused.

"“I’ll never cooperate with you murdering bigots.” – Cyclops"

While all of this is going on, Feilong is making political moves. He stationed Iron Man Sentinels at the White House to protect the President of the United States. They’re also there to send a message to mutants around the world. That’s only some of the things that happened in X-Men No. 25. But there’s good news. Marvel’s Mightiest Mutants may be scattered all over the world, hunted, and feared, but this is just another day for them.

It’s been weeks since the Mutant Massacre at the Hellfire Gala. In that time a lot of things have progressed for mutants. First, Kate Pryde (now going by ShadowKat), Talon, Synch, Emma Frost, and Rasputin IV have started fighting back. They’ve been making note of what Orchis is doing and strategically planning their attack. One of the biggest moves is Kate Pryde going to Krakoa to get a list of mutants willing to fight and their powers. She also left a message that every mutant left standing is a mutant.

Good news for the X-Men

"“You pigheaded ignoramus–it’s over and we won! Accept my mercy! – Dr Stasis"

As it was reported months ago, Steve Rogers is bringing the Unity Squad Avengers back together to track down Captain Krakoa. In this issue, Cap puts his team together. While he’s talking to Synch, he mentions that they’re already making progress on fixing the issues with the Krakoan drugs and how to get to Orchis.

Next, Emma Frost gave Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) a chance to hide. Emma erased Kamala’s deaths from her parents’ memory and changed Kamala’s death certificate. After that, Emma tells Kamala to forget she’s a mutant and stay away from the X-Men. Being the person that she is, Kamala refused. She knows what’s happening to mutants isn’t right. She also tells Emma she’d be fighting back even if she wasn’t a mutant.

All of this is why Ms. Marvel will make a great X-Man. Kamala’s next journey will be legendary. However, it’s going to take a while for Kate Pryde to warm up to her. Kate doesn’t believe Kamala has what it takes to be an X-Man. Some of that has to do with how Kamala responded to being a mutant. The other could be due to the trauma after she fell through a Krakoan gate.
