Fans hoping to see The Flash drop on Max will be disappointed to know that the movie is not going to be making its way to the streaming service this month.

The Flash movie has been constantly garnering attention from critics and fans alike, some with criticism and some with praise Ezra Miller, in a controversial dual role as current and past Barry Allen, and Michael Keaton’s return as Batman after 31 years, have been among the film’s talking points. But if you’re asking us when will the film be available for streaming, you’re not going to enjoy this update.

Max released a list of shows and movies arriving on its platform in August this year, and The Flash was notably missing from the list.

There could be several explanations, but the most obvious one is that DC doesn’t want the online streaming of The Flash to keep viewers from going to watch Blue Beetle once it hits theaters on August 18, which happens to be around the same time The Flash’s 60-day window expires.

With DC’s movies not doing so hot at the box office, it’s kind of understanding albeit annoying why DC would want to keep The Flash from potentially stealing the spotlight for a new movie.

When could The Flash come to Max?

The Flash will be streaming on Max “in the Fall after its exclusive run in theaters this June.” This could mean that we might have to wait till late September to catch the movie on Max.

A September release date is looking likely since we know the film won’t be arriving in August and dropping it in September should put enough time between Blue Beetle‘s theatrical release and The Flash‘s Max release. There also aren’t any big superhero titles set to release in September, which could help DC’s film get a nice streaming bump and perhaps reach more viewers on Max than it did in theaters.

The Flash‘s arrival on Max can’t get here soon enough. The timing could largely depend on many different factors and for now, all we can do is stay tuned and hope for a much better update.
