3. Carol And Tommy H.

While you might not immediately recall their names, Carol and Tommy H have undoubtedly earned their spot on our list as one of the worst couples in Stranger Things. In season one, as Nancy acquainted herself with the popular kids at school, Carol and Tommy H found themselves among her new circle of friends. Being part of Steve’s clique, they seemed like the quintessential high school couple, but there was more to them than meets the eye.

Carol and Tommy were far from a model couple, as their behavior became increasingly toxic and detrimental to those around them. Fueled by gossip and deceit, Carol’s penchant for talking behind people’s backs and Tommy’s inclination for spreading rumors about Nancy only added to the toxic atmosphere they created. Even when Nancy and Steve’s relationship hit a rough patch, Carol and Tommy took pleasure in ridiculing them, showcasing a lack of empathy and respect for others.

Their mean-spirited and hurtful actions make it nearly impossible for viewers to rally behind them as a couple. Moreover, both Carol and Tommy are portrayed as arrogant, shallow, and consistently mean-spirited, further eroding any likability or relatability they might have had.

In the grand scheme of Stranger Things, where friendships are tested and alliances form, Carol and Tommy H serve as a stark reminder of the destructive nature of toxic relationships.
