A new fan-made image depicts Hayden Christensen in his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader for the upcoming Disney+ series Ahsoka.
The galaxy’s favorite controversial Jedi Knight is returning to the small screen, portrayed by none other than Hayden Christensen in the eagerly anticipated Star Wars series, Ahsoka.
Fans are buzzing with anticipation at the idea of seeing Anakin Skywalker back in action, the Jedi Knight who becomes Darth Vader, one of the most iconic villains in cinematic history, in an attempt to save his wife’s life. Spoiler alert, it doesn’t work.
A realistic and intriguing fan-made image has recently been shared by digital artist guiillegfx on Instagram, which provides a captivating vision of what Christensen could look like as a Force Ghost. The brilliant piece of concept art has caused a stir among the Star Wars fanbase, igniting a discussion about the possibilities the Ahsoka series could bring.
Is Hayden Christensen in Ahsoka?
After returning for Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen will return for Ahsoka as well. Christensen’s return to the franchise has generated much speculation among the Star Wars faithful.
Anakin Skywalker is a character who embodies complexity, a hero who falls into darkness only to end up redeeming himself by saving his son Luke and sacrificing himself to destroy the Emperor.
Cue Poe Dameron saying, “Somehow, Palpatine returned.” Yeah. It didn’t work, Ani.
Anakin’s appearance as a Force Ghost does raise some questions about his role in the series – will we see a remorseful Anakin, or will there still be elements of his darker persona present? Will he be a mentor to his former Padawan, Ahsoka? Are they going to use the same horrible CGI to make him look younger again, like they did in Kenobi? The questions and concerns are endless.
Ahoska cast
Christensen’s Anakin is just one piece of an ensemble cast in Ahsoka. The title character, played by Rosario Dawson, is already well-known to fans from her appearances in The Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Mandalorian.
Lars Mikkelsen will be playing the absolutely awesome and terrible Grand Admiral Thrawn, making OG Star Wars fans vibrate with excitement. Thrawn was originally installed into the Star Wars EU through books, and when Disney acquired the rights to Star Wars, he was also thrown into the “these do not exist”pile. However, the Gods of Cannon were on our side, with Disney including him in the Rebels series and now, in Ahsoka as well.
Ahsoka is an exciting development in the Star Wars universe, promising to explore new narratives and provide fresh perspectives on known and loved characters. The news of Hayden Christensen’s return as Anakin Skywalker has only fueled this anticipation, and we cannot wait to see what’s in store for us all in a few weeks.
Ahsoka is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on August 23.
