Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The early 2000s cartoon was TMNT’s best project

7. Shredder was devious
Shredder is too good to be grouped in with his goons. Oroku Saki is one of the purest villains of all time. He’s a throwback to when people are just evil. Even the couple of times when he was forced to work with the Turtles, he made his intentions clear. Shredder still planned on killing them. Saki was willing to kill himself if it meant the Turtles went with him (this happened towards the end of season 3).
Just like the Ninja Turtles, Shredder improved after every defeat. If it wasn’t his fighting style, it was his armor and technology. Saki’s obsession to rule and destroy anyone in his way is unmatched. This is why it took the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles seven years to beat him. It also made his eventual defeat enjoyable.
6. Michelangelo was a better fighter
Michelangelo is another character that deserves their own section. People don’t look at him as one of TMNT’s best fighters. Of course, he’s no slouch. He’s been training for years. Nevertheless, his lack of maturity overshadows his skills.
This happened throughout this series as well because it’s a part of his personality that people love. Despite his goofball behavior, he reminded people he wasn’t to be messed with. two great examples of this came during “Big Brawl” (season 2) and again in “Grudge Match” (season 4).
