James Bond actors ranked

James Bond is one of the most iconic characters in the history of film. Some of the biggest stars in the world have played James Bond. Following Daniel Craig’s exit as James Bond and before Sony names the next James Bond, we thought it’d be a great opportunity to rank the James Bond actors and celebrate these great performances.

James Bond was created by author Ian Fleming. So far, there have been 25 James Bond movies, and more are likely on the way. Over that span, six actors have starred as James Bond in the movies. Technically, there have been seven actors who played 007, but David Niven only starred in Bond TV special.

Here’s the list of all six James Bond actors (movies):

  • Sean Connery
  • George Lazenby
  • Roger Moore
  • Timothy Dalton
  • Pierce Brosnan
  • Daniel Craig

Let’s get the list started with the worst of the six James Bond actors. Unfortunately, it’s George Lazenby.

6. George Lazenby

George Lazenby was only in one James Bond movie, so it makes sense why he, unfortunately, comes in last place on the ranking of the James Bond actors.

Lazenby starred as James Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. It was released in theaters in 1969. Even after Lazenby played Bond, the film franchise went back to Connery for Diamonds Are Forever. Roger Moore took over the role in 1973.

Overall, Lazenby wasn’t a bad Bond by any means. It’s just that everyone else who played the character was better. And, I think a crucial part of that is that all of the other actors who played Bond had much more of an opportunity to become a better version of Bond and truly make the character their own. Lazenby just didn’t get that opportunity.

Let’s keep the ranking going with the fifth-best James Bond, Timothy Dalton.
