BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, ENGLAND – JANUARY 11: Actor Pierce Brosnan poses with an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish at a press conference for the new James Bond film at Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire, England on January 11, 2002. The film, known only as “Bond 20” at the time, was to become “Die Another Day”. (Photo by Dave Hogan/Getty Images) /

3. Pierce Brosnan

When it comes to selecting the best James Bond actors, it’s really a Sean Connery vs. Daniel Craig argument. It’s Sean Connery, Daniel Craig, and then everyone else. For me, Pierce Brosnan is the third-best James Bond.

Other than Craig, Brosnan’s four James Bond movies are four of the most high-octane action movies. There are so many good stunt sequences in Brosnan’s Bond movies, and Brosnan did a terrific job in that role.

Obviously, Brosnan’s four Bond movies were released over a seven-year period during the late ’90s and early 2000s, and there’s a distinct style to these movies. Having grown up watching the action movies of the ’90s and early 2000s, I’m a fan of these movies. I know there are so people who really don’t like Brosnan as Bond. To me, he combined the cool charm of Connery’s Bond (although not as well) and the wit of Dalton’s Bond. Then, Brosnan added his own twist to the character.

I’m not a huge, huge fan of some of Brosnan’s movies, but I do think he does a good job as 007. Overall, the result is a very good James Bond, one of the best we’ve seen on screen so far.

Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond movies:

  • GoldenEye (1995)
  • Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)
  • The World Is Not Enough (1999)
  • Die Another Day (2002)
