11. Mon-El
When Mon-El of Daxam first arrived on the scene in Supergirl season 2 (well, technically at the end of season 1), he rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way very, very quickly. Brash, arrogant, and honestly hard to like, fans were divided over the character for some time. But to deny that Mon-El grew would be a disservice to the writers, who did a great deal to evolve his character in just two seasons.
The journey wasnât smooth and Mon-El regressed throughout the second season, but he also learned what it means to be both a good person and a hero. He (eventually) learned the lessons that Kara and the DEO had been teaching him and applied them to his turn as a hero, genuinely growing in the process. His romance with Kara was a big part of his arc, as it was her love that made him see the beauty in life.
The characterâs return in season 3 was a clear example of his growth. One of the 31st Centuryâs greatest heroes as part of the Legion of Super-Heroes, he was living proof that people can change for the better. While we would have liked to have seen more of that on-screen (and a better exit for him), Mon-Elâs story was an important part of Supergirlâs early years, and Chris Wood played him remarkably well.
