19. (Miss) Eve Teschmacher

When Cat Grant’s terrified new assistant first appeared in the Supergirl season 2 premiere, we couldn’t have imagined the journey that awaited her (and us!). Miss Teschmacher was a nod to Lex Luthor’s assistant in Richard Donner movies Superman and Superman II but the show eventually had her follow in her namesake’s footsteps.

The reveal that Eve was, in fact, a Lex Luthor superfan who had been working for him all along was really quite brilliant. And it wasn’t just the moment either, as it breathed new life into the character in general, allowing Andrea Brooks to have a lot of fun with her throughout the fourth and fifth seasons.

Between seeing her as Lena Luthor’s friend to watching her tear up the screen as the somewhat unhinged assassin for Lex, Eve was an unexpected delight throughout her time on Supergirl. The show could have done with giving her a little more character development at times so that she wasn’t quite as cartoonish (which is why it was so frustrating that she was written off ahead of the final season right when that was beginning to happen) but she was an enjoyable part of the show that surprised us nonetheless.
