Supergirl: Every character ranked from worst to best
14. Maggie Sawyer
The name Maggie Sawyer carries quite a bit of weight with DC fans, so it was nice to see Supergirl give her some major spotlight, introducing the character to a whole new audience in the process. Portrayed by Floriana Lima, she made her first appearance early into season 2, as the NCPD officer attempted to protect the city from some of its many alien threats.
That, of course, brought her into the crosshairs of DEO Agent Alex Danvers and the two quickly clashed over jurisdictions and crime scenes. But it turned out that this was merely hiding a deeper connection between them, as the pair fell for each other, with Maggie playing an important role in Alex’s coming out story.
But there was more to Maggie as a character on her own too. She seamlessly slotted into the show as a major character, partaking in storylines revolving around Alex, Kara, the DEO, and the threats that reared their head in National City. It’s such a shame that she left the show in the beginning of its third season, because there really was so much untapped potential in that character.
Nevertheless, her bond with Alex (and their mature, heartbreaking goodbye) will remain one of Supergirl‘s most important storylines.
