American Horror Story: The gift and the curse of Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian joining the cast of American Horror Story: Delicate should help the show’s ratings or it could mean the show’s demise.

American Horror Story’s popularity doesn’t seem like that’s going anywhere. The show is going into its 12th season and an AHS staple Emma Roberts is returning after being gone since AHS: 1984. Joining her is Kim Kardashian. A woman who isn’t known for their acting.

Kim Kardashian has been in more than a few movies and guest-starred on some shows. However, her popularity has come from being a reality TV star, her clothing line, and more. Kim K. joining the cast for its twelfth season (name American Horror Story: Delicate) is a weird move for the show, but it’s something that will help the series more than people may think.

Kim Kardashian will help American Horror Story

If you search for Kim Kardashian online, half of the articles, posts, tweets, and more say things about them. Half of them talk about how bad she is. They call her talentless and worse. Which isn’t true. You don’t become a billionaire without some kind of talent.

The other half loves everything she does. Either way, people talk about her. It’s like wrestling. Whether you’re a baby face or a heel, you want a reaction. When no one responds to you, that’s when it becomes a problem. Kim K hasn’t had that problem since 2007.

In 2007, her sex tape was released. If it was done without her permission, it’s a deplorable and heinous act. Nevertheless, it helped people recognize who she was. This was followed up with Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ debut. After that, you couldn’t go a day without hearing the Kardashian name. Her entire family has made millions off the back of Kim’s celebrity.

Good or bad, she’s always a hot topic. The attention she garners will be brought to season 12 of American Horror Story. Her fans are going to tune in because they love her. They’ll support anything she does and talk about how great she was. Her critics will watch to see how bad she is. Regardless of how good she is, some people won’t give Kim her due. Despite their disdain, they’ll keep watching. Hate-watching something still counts as a view and, for some reason, people enjoy doing that.

Kim Kardashian may hurt American Horror Story

There’s one negative thing about Kim Kardashian joining American Horror Story. Some AHS fans could be turned off by her. Not everyone will hate-watch a show. There are some who may already be turned off by her and refuse to watch this season even if it gets great reviews. It might be a small minority, but it could hurt the show since the last two seasons (Double-Feature and NYC) haven’t gotten great reviews.

Kim Kardashian’s appearance could start a wave of people losing faith in AHS. There are die-hard fans that won’t like the idea of a reality TV star on their show. They may think this is the beginning of more pop culture performers becoming cast members instead of actors. If American Horror Story: Delicate isn’t a success, this will be the show’s final season. Sadly, if that happens, Kim Kardashian will get the blame. Even if it isn’t her fault.
