The previous episode of Harley Quinn season 4 didn’t focus on the relationship between Harley and Poison Ivy. Instead, it was about the professional careers of Harley, Ivy, and the Joker.

Talia al Ghul took all of the Bat Family’s gadgets and pulled their funding. She felt that they became too reliant on their weapons. This leads to the Bat Family being exposed. Without their weapons, they seemed helpless. In the end, Harley taught them how to improvise. This displayed leadership qualities from Harley Quinn. It also showed that being a hero fits her.

Meanwhile, on the moon at Malcon, Ivy is the most popular villain there. Even more than Lex Luthor. Of course, this infuriated him. So much that he blew up his calves while pumping them up. After this, Lex set Malcon to self-destruct. This didn’t stop Ivy from getting a one-on-one with Steppenwolf (who’s apparently the most accomplished villain in this universe).

Back on Earth, Joker was jealous that he wasn’t invited to Malcon. This makes sense since he’s not a villain. He’s Gotham City’s mayor. This didn’t stop Joker from feeling left out. As the day progressed, Joker became more annoyed by his job. Being a mayor lacks the same excitement as being the Clown Prince of Crime. It got so bad that he ended up killing someone and laughing at their death. While it seems like he did the killing, you never know. He could have just seen what happened and laughed. You never know when it comes to Harley Quinn.
