12. Death of a brother

Comic book: Invincible: Full House

Invincible’s brother Oliver was spying on Thraag for Allen the Alien and the Coalition of Planets. They hoped that Oliver could find out where Thraag was hiding. Thraag was too smart for this plan to work. He knew something was going on but used this to his advantage.

Thraag orders Oliver to kill his brother, Atom Eve, and their daughter (Terra). Of course, Oliver refuses and tries to warn Mark and his family. It was a futile effort. Thraag and his children kill Mark, Eve, Terra, and Oliver. Eve’s powers allowed her to resurrect herself and bring Mark and their daughter back to life. Unfortunately, she couldn’t do anything for Oliver.

Oliver always takes a life-threatening blow whenever he goes up against the Viltrumites. This time, it was actually fatal.

11. Ultimate Peter Parker

Comic book: Ultimate Spider-Man: Death of Spider-Man

Peter Parker in The Ultimate Universe took a shot from the Punisher intended for someone else. Instead of getting medical attention, he had to go protect his family from his deadliest villains. After taking them out, the only bad guy left was Norman Osborn (the Green Goblin).

With the last bit of strength Peter had left, he defeats Norman and protects Mary Jane and Aunt May. Peter dies but passes with a smile on his face. He’s happy that he was able to keep his loved ones alive. The worst part is Norman smiles as well. He lost the fight, but his nemesis was dead.
