9. In Darkest Night

Comic book: Injustice: Year Two

Sinestro was working with Superman to “protect Earth.” The reality of the situation was Sinestro was manipulating Superman. He instigated a war between Superman’s Insurgency and the Green Lantern Corps. During this war, Hal Jordan has his Green Lantern ring taken from him. Immediately after that, Hal becomes a member of the Sinestro Corps.

During the war, Sinestro catches John Stewart off-guard and kills him. Sinestro tells Hal that Guy Gardner did it. In a rage (partly due to being influenced by his new Yellow Lantern Ring), Hal rips the arm with Guy Gardner’s Green Lantern Ring. A now depowered Guy Gardner falls to his death.

8. The real Age of Ultron

Comic book: Age of Ultron

Avengers: Age of Ultron is nothing like Age of Ultron in Marvel Comics. The source material is more like the future of Terminator. Ultron’s artificial intelligence won. It took over the world and destroyed anything organic. While gaining control, Ultron kills most of the heroes left in the world.

In an abandoned S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, a handful of heroes are left alive but defeated. Even Steve Rogers was left without any hope. Of course, when a new plan was created, the remaining champions charged into action. The idea was to go into the future and destroy Ultron. That plan failed too.

The only heroes left to save the world were Wolverine and Sue Storm. Then, she died in a reality that she and Wolverine created after killing Hank Pym. That left Logan to fix things.

The Marvel Universe is lucky Logan found a way to fix what Ultron did. Sadly, fixing things sent a ripple throughout the multiverse.
