POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING OF THE BOYS!!!!!

18. The Boys

Comic book: The Boys: The Bloody Doors Off

After Butcher avenged his wife’s death, The Boys thought there was nothing left for him to do. They couldn’t have been more wrong. He had one more goal in life. Killing Black Noir was only part of the problem. Butcher needed to eliminate anyone with Compound V in their system. That’s including innocent heroes and civilians unfortunate enough to have it in their system. The latter includes his teammates.

Butcher tries to finish the job without alerting his teammates. Not out of fear. He knew that they’d try and stop him. They discovered what he was up to and Butcher had to kill them. Butcher kills Mother’s Milk by holding a grenade in M.M.’s mouth.

Later, he blows up The Boys’ base while The Female and the Frenchman were inside. Hughie only survived because he wasn’t there at the time. That and Butcher planned for Hughie to stop him.

When Hughie and Butcher finally meet, Butcher tells Hughie he murdered his parents. This sent Hughie in a rage and he stabs Butcher in the heart. Butcher never really killed them. In fact, he met Hughie’s parents and couldn’t stop talking about how great their son was. The funny thing is Butcher had been prepping Hughie to stop him from the beginning. Mission accomplished.
