15. Devil Hulk Kills a scientist

Comic book: Immortal Hulk No. 8

The Devil Hulk is Bruce Banner’s deadliest personality. He isn’t as strong or impervious as his other personas. What makes him the scariest of them is his deviousness. He’s more than willing to do things that hurt himself if it leads to his opponent dying. In the fifty issues of Immortal Hulk, what he did in No. 8 was the most creative and possibly the sickest.

After being captured, scientists took the Hulk’s body apart and put the pieces in different jars. This was supposed to prevent him from healing. It didn’t. With the snap of his fingers, Hulk broke all the jars in the lab. Hulk’s body reformed around the scientist that was experimenting on him. He died being engulfed by his subject.

Overall, this was a fitting end to a horrible person. Seeing Devil Hulk absorb the scientists was something out of a scary movie. And that’s what Immortal Hulk is. This comic book seemed to be designed to be like a horror film.

Al Ewing’s interpretation of the popular comic book was new and needed. It was time for a different side of the Hulk. The first moment of Immortal Hulk proved that this personality was different, but issue No. 8 solidified things.  It’s a shame Devil Hulk is gone.
