In the DC Comics crossover event Knight Terrors, Green Lantern Hal Jordan shows that nothing can stop his willpower.

DC Comics Knight Terrors showed heroes and villains as they’ve never been seen. A new villain named Insomnia forced them to sleep. While they’re unconscious, he makes them experience their worst fears. For example, Joker’s terror was a combination of Batman dying and him not getting the kill, becoming normal, and not getting credit for his kills. To make it worse, this leads to him becoming Batman.

Green Lantern member Hal Jordan wasn’t excluded from nightmares. He dreamed of zombie-like family members attacking him. After that, it was him failing as a Green Lantern. Lastly, it was the time he was possessed by Parallax. However, there was a difference in how he dealt with the nightmares. Unlike the others, Hal overcame his fears with little effort.

"“My friend Kilowog told me that fear stood for false evidence appearing real.”-Hal Jordan"

No matter what Insomnia’s minion tried, Hal Jordan defeated it. They even admitted that Hal fared better than everyone else. DC Comics fans shouldn’t be shocked. The Green Lanterns’ are strengthened by willpower and Hal is regarded as the best of them. He’s been fighting fear for years. This just added to his stellar reputation.

Hal was beating Insomnia’s minion so badly that it ran away scared. Imagine that. A being created to instill fear fleed in horror. After that, Hal was in control. He goes on to remind everyone why he is one of the greatest heroes ever. It wasn’t just that he defeated it. Hal did it with creative constructs, humor, and a smile on his face.

If you’ve never read a Green Lantern DC comic featuring Hal Jordan, this is a great place to start.   Knight Terrors: Green Lantern has been the highlight of this crossover. Admittedly, this writer doesn’t know a lot about Hal Jordan. What he does know is that he’s not easily scared.

Hal said it best during issue No. 2. “Those weren’t fears you found. They were moments when I was faced with a choice. To worry about what might happen next…or push the throttle forward and fly into the sky.” As you can see, Hal Jordan pushed the throttle forward and destroyed his enemy.
