6. Ian Somerhalder

When it comes to actors who know how to be suave, cool, snarky, and downright sarcastic, Ian Somerhalder fits the bill. Thanks to his time on both The Vampire Diaries and Lost, we know that the actor has what it takes to step into a role like Gambit and do it with ease. He has already given us two very different characters who were both sarcastic, intelligent, and even a bit on the trickster side of things, all three characters which are in line with this particular mutant.

Not only does he already have the cool factor that the mutant exudes, but he was also born in Louisiana, which actually gives him something in common with Remy LeBeau. And at the same time, his days as a vampire mean he has already showcased the idea of him being powerful in interesting ways. Plus, if you look back at Remy’s past before joining the X-Men, then you already know that the thief-turned-hero is basically just Damon Salvatore without being a vampire.

We can absolutely believe that Somerhalder was a mutant with powers like Remy has and of course, the fact that he has swagger himself doesn’t hurt the overall picture. We can’t help but point out that the actor has already basically given us a version of Remy in TVD, which is just an added bonus we can’t resist in this dream casting scenario.

Ian Somerhalder would be such an interesting addition to the MCU. And while it is hard to picture him as anything other than a mutant (specifically Gambit/Remy LeBeau), we would take him in any Marvel role really.
