4. Devon Sawa

Maybe this is my inner child talking, but as someone who remembers the days of Devon Sawa as Casper, I can’t resist adding him to this casting wish list. However, it is not his time as Casper that makes me think that Sawa would actually be a surprisingly brilliant choice for our next Remy LeBeau.

Beyond his role in the Final Destination franchise, if you have ever watched the series Nikita, then you know that Devon Sawa knows how to be a force to be reckoned with. In that role, he was a fierce fighter with the ability to swoop in and hurt or help as needed. He was a spy and an assassin in this series, fighting against the very same organization that helped to turn him into the man that he became. It was a role that was perfectly suited to someone stepping into the dark and gritty role of the X-Men, and another reason why he seems perfect for the character.

We have seen Sawa be sarcastic and witty, and we have also seen him be vulnerable. These are things that would just add more depth to the MCU and of course to the X-Men.

With Devon Sawa being in his mid-40s, we would definitely be getting a more mature version of Gambit. And that means someone who has already put aside his thief days and moved on to the hero side of things. At the same time, it just feels like the actor would be able to blend both sides of who Remy is and was and give him a new life on screen.

There is just something about Sawa that makes it seem like he would be a perfect fit for the role of the MCU’s Gambit and it might just be the fact that he exudes charisma and charm in equal measure, which is what we would expect from Remy LeBeau himself.
