X-Men: 6 actors we want to see play Gambit in the MCU
1. Joseph Morgan
There was simply no way for me to leave Joseph Morgan off the list when it came to potential actors stepping into the MCU to portray Remy Le Beau. Considering Gambit has been described as “cunning, smart, tricky, manipulative, and sneaky.” All of which are descriptions that were also used to describe Morgan’s character of Niklaus on The Originals.
However, much like Niklaus, there is a lot more to Remy than that description. He is also a man with a generally good heart and someone who wants to do good where he can and when he can. And while that may not always have been the case and he still comes off as sarcastic and a bit high-strung at times, it makes sense to have someone who can capture the many different facets of the character – good and bad.
Luckily for us, that is exactly why Joseph Morgan is the perfect choice for the role. Not only has he already done this on screen, but we also know that he has what it takes to be a part of a comic book franchise thanks to his turn on Titans as Brother Blood. The fact that the series was canceled before we could truly see him bring this character to fruition (we just didn’t get enough of his development and what he could be) is perhaps the greatest tragedy of Titans coming to an end.
However, it does mean that Morgan is free to step into a whole new world of superheroes and this time he might just be the hero of the day instead of the villain. We have already seen the actor bring depth and humanity to vampires and villains, but maybe it is time to let him shine as a mutant superhero.
There is no doubt that Joseph Morgan is a star and he is one that would be a brilliant addition to the MCU and especially the X-Men.
