4. Charles Melton

Wouldn’t it be nice if the DCU thought outside of the box with their casting choices? And considering Superman is a literal alien, it makes sense that he doesn’t have to be a white man. In fact, it would make more sense if he wasn’t.

All of that is to say that it would have been interesting to see Charles Melton getting a chance to shine as the iconic superhero. At 6’1″, Melton is certainly tall enough to take on the role of Superman, but at the same time, he also has that impressive jawline and a presence on screen that is hard to ignore.

Thanks to Riverdale, we have gotten a chance to see him shine for years now, even as more of a background character. And yet, every time he was the one getting the spotlight, he made the most of it. Plus, his time on the series is proof that he can handle the world of comic book characters and still shine.

Charles Melton has proven that he can steal the show when given the chance and he has a swagger about him that would be interesting to see in relation to the next Superman. At the same time, he has a presence on screen that makes you think he could be a superhero with an alter ego like that of Clark Kent. By day he is a mild-mannered reporter and by night a man taking down bad guys and saving the world.

Honestly, Melton deserves a chance to be a part of a superhero universe and Superman would have been a brilliant way to make that happen.
