7 actors who should’ve replaced Henry Cavill as Superman instead of David Corenswet
2. Eli Goree
Honestly, I have seen Eli Goree’s name bandied about as a potential pick for the next Superman multiple times. And I have to agree that I think the actor would have been a truly inspired choice for the next Man of Steel actor.
While he is not a big name yet, he has all the potential in the world to be a true star of the big screen. And thanks to his role in the 2020 movie One Night in Miami where he portrayed a fictionalized version of Cassius Clay (before he was Muhammed Ali), we know that he can take on the big roles and make them his own while shining in the process.
It also helps that Goree has also been a part of the world of comics thanks to his time as “Mad Dog” on Riverdale. He was a scene stealer then too and he did it in a way that did not detract from the other people on screen with him, especially KJ Apa’s Archie. Instead, he was able to add another layer to the stories being told and made us want to see him in bigger and better roles.
And if there is one role that would truly be bigger and better for him, it would absolutely be that of Superman. He has the presence and charisma we want and he doesn’t have a ton of credits behind him to make us think of him as being someone else. He is young enough to make the character his own for a longer period of time. Plus, it would be nice to see a fresh approach to the hero and who is representing this alien superhero.
