1. Agent Phil Coulson

The death of Agent Phil Coulson, in The Avengers is still etched in our memories as one of the best emotionally charged moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. During the Battle of New York Coulson bravely confronts Loki, armed with an experimental weapon in a desperate attempt to halt the villain’s destructive rampage. However, in a twist of fate, Loki gains the upper hand and swiftly impales Coulson in the chest with his scepter.

While it may not have come as a shock, Agent Phil Coulson’s “death” in The Avengers serves as an example of how masterfully the MCU executes captivating plot twists and fakeouts. Having endeared himself to audiences over MCU films as a S.H.I.E.L.D.
