Actor Taylor Zakhar Perez is making a name for himself in Hollywood. Should he look to join the MCU or DCU, we have a few ideas about who he should play!
31-year-old American actor Taylor Zakhar Perez is making waves with his latest Prime Video original movie, Red, White and Royal Blue, a romantic comedy based on the hit 2019 novel of the same name.
Growing up in Indiana, Taylor Zakhar Perez turned down a swimming scholarship to attend UCLA where he majored in Spanish, Culture, and Community with a minor in film and television. You may recognize Perez from the Kissing Booth sequels and his minor roles in series such as iCarly, Young & Hungry, and HBO Max’s Minx.
With only a few film credits under his belt, Taylor is quickly making a name for himself in Hollywood, but so far, he’s mostly done comedy and romance with no significant action role. Taylor is of Mexican, Mediterranean, and Middle-Eastern descent. He’s got the charm, the physique, and the attitude to make the jump into the ever-expanding world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Universe. Here are a few characters Taylor Zakhar Perez could be cast as…
Nova (Sam Alexander or Richard Rider) MCU
A character that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been teasing for what seems like forever is Samuel Alexander aka Nova.
From Carefree, Arizona, Sam lived with his father, mother, and younger sister. Sam can be easily introduced with help from the Guardians of the Galaxy as well as the X-Men. Sam Alexander’s father was a drunk who would rattle on about what was presumably lies about his life as a member of the Nova Corps, until one day he goes missing and Sam finds his father’s helmet.
Once he puts on the helmet he is instantly granted his cosmic powers and abilities and sets out to find his father while balancing life as a teen and a new superhero. Although Sam Alexander is in his teens during his origins, Taylor may still be able to play an older version of Sam or take on the role of Richard Rider, who also carried the Nova mantle prior to being the Nova Centurion Prime until he was seemingly killed off in the Cancerverse when Thanos brings Death to it. At a later time, it would be revealed that Rider was still alive and eventually works as a mentor to Sam in the comics.
This storyline could make an interesting Disney Plus series or a stand-alone MCU film or a special presentation.
