8. Callisto

Callisto, oh how the cinematic universe did you wrong. His appearance in Last Stand was nothing short of a letdown. They took a character with so much potential and reduced her to a glorified cameo – and even that wasn’t done well.

Just like in the comics, Callisto and Storm were set up for an epic showdown, but instead, Storm bodied her, leaving us wanting more than just a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it encounter.

Fans of X-Men: The Animated Series remember the iconic story involving the Morlocks kidnapping Jean and Cyclops. This incident drew the attention of the X-Men, leading to the iconic battle between Storm and Callisto. But in Last Stand, the narrative was watered down, and so was Callisto, serving up a disappointing dish instead.

In the comics, Callisto was far from a mere cameo. She was a formidable character who orchestrated kidnappings and even poisoned Kitty Pryde. Yes, she was downright diabolical, but there was depth to her. She had her reasons for hating the X-Men, a group of mutants who chose to protect the very people that shunned them. The Morlocks were a band of cast-out mutants, those that truly looked different and would never be accepted by humans. Of course, you wouldn’t be able to tell that from the X-Men movie.
