4. Juggernaut

Poor Juggernaut, a powerhouse in the Marvel Universe, and a disappointment in Fox’s X-Men movies. To say his first-ever live-action appearance left something to be desired is an understatement.

Ryan Reynolds did a better job than in the original X-Men film when he brought the character into the Deadpool franchise. In X-3, Juggernaut had one epic line, “I’m the Juggernaut, (bleep),” and that’s about it. There was no connection to Professor X. Instead, they opted to make Mystique Professor X’s sister-like character.

Meanwhile, in the comics, Juggernaut’s relationship with Professor X is complicated. They were stepbrothers with a strained dynamic that could have added depth to the films. For all of his horrible acts, when he was depowered, Professor X hid his beloved evildoer of a brother under the X-Mansion. Imagine how upset that made the team. Of course, moviegoers wouldn’t know about their relationship since they didn’t have one.

Imagine if the movies had that tie-in. Oh, and what about his powers? In the comics, Cain Marko’s powers come from the mystical Crimson Gem of Cyttorak. Yeah, what happened to that? They were better off creating their own mutant with Juggernaut-like powers instead of relegating him to a character like Kitty Pryde’s abilities.
