8. X-Men: First Class

2011’s X-Men: First Class is one of the top-tier X-Men movies from Fox. This is a perfect example where recasting works well for a franchise in the film’s leads. First Class delivers top-notch performances from James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as Charles Xavier and Magneto respectively.

Set during the 1960s, the aesthetic of the film is rich for viewing and breathes new life into the X-Men films. Here we see our favorite mutants’ younger counterparts learn about their mutant abilities and face off against a sinister Keven Bacon who plays the film’s villain Sebastian Shaw.

When the film announced that it would be casting new actors in the roles of previous X-Men characters, fans worried Hugh Jackman would be replaced as Wolverine. But a pleasant surprise to all was had when the film features a recruitment montage in which Charles and Erik are searching for mutants to join their fight and we see a short but iconic nonetheless cameo featuring none other than Hugh Jackman himself as Logan/Wolverine.

Sitting at a bar enjoying his own company and clearly not wanting to be disturbed we see Charles and Erik approach him with Logan sharply responding in his own way that he has no interest in what they have to say.
