2. The Wolverine

Wolverine plus samurais equals a hell of a good time. Hugh Jackman’s second solo film as Wolverine was 2013’s The Wolverine. Splitting audiences yet again with some absolutely loving it to others saying it’s the worse entry, The Wolverine surely deserves more credit than it got.

Set in Japan it takes us on a different route than what we were used to seeing from these films. The influence of Japanese culture and fighting styles mixed with the primal fighting styles of Wolverine offered up some iconic action sequences for the franchise giving something fresh for audiences to indulge in.

Being in Japan, Wolverine gets caught up in the middle of a conspiracy with mutants and yakuza. This entry was definitely one of the more stylish of the X-Men and Wolverine films offering more character development for Logan allowing Hugh Jackman to further expand the character that he has grown to love just as fans have come to love as well.

Hugh Jackman carries the film and plays well others in this chapter along with his sword-wielding sidekick Yukio who delivers a great performance and proves to be a fine addition to the ever-growing X-Men universe.
