X-Men: All 3 Rogue actresses ranked from worst to best
Rogue is a fan favorite X-Men we saw in animation and live-action, thanks to some fantastic actresses who brought the character to life, and we’re thankful.
Rogue, that sassy Southern mutant, is like a story rollercoaster through the Marvel universe. In the movies, she’s Marie, but in the comics, she goes by Anna Raven. And it wasn’t until her own series Going Rogue that her true name, Anna Marie, dropped. She’s the blend of good and evil being part X-Men, part bad girl with the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. And as comic book fans know all too well, she grew up with Mystique and Destiny, two total survivors who’d do whatever it takes.
Before she joined the X-Men, Rogue was kind of a villain, working alongside her two mothers, Mystique and Destiny doing bad things. One of those bad things saw Anna go head-to-head with Carol Danvers. After Destiny’s vision saw Captain Marvel (then Miss Marvel) costing Rogue aka Anna her soul, Rogue confronted Ms. Marvel on a plane.
Unexpectedly, Anna absorbed Ms. Marvel’s powers and consciousness. The problem was, Carol’s voice was still in Rogue’s head. So, in an attempt to rid herself of Carol’s voice, she tossed Carol’s body off a bridge but failed. Off-topic, but we need to see this happen in the MCU.
Anywho, as comic book fans well know, under Mystique’s guidance, Anna attacked Avengers to free Brotherhood members using stolen powers from Thor, Captain America, and more. Her powers were fading, and she escaped capture alongside Mystique. Later, she clashed with the X-Men absorbing both Wolverine and Storm’s abilities.
Fast forward, Anna hits up Professor Xavier for help. And bam, Rogue lands in the X-Men. But here’s the kicker – her real name’s a mystery, like a secret superhero ID.
In the comics, Rogue’s journey is a wild ride. From bad beginnings to absorbing powers, it’s like her story has more twists than a superhero showdown. Over the years we got to see Rogue come to life in two animated series X-Men: The Animated Series, X-Men Evolution, and Fox’s Live-action. Three ladies deserve all the praise for their interpretation of an iconic hero.
